Accordingly, tourism firms operating in the capital have begun launching tours to nearby destinations for short daytrips in an effort to meet the demands of tourists while simultaneously implementing COVID-19 prevention and control measures in line with regulations. Most notably, the Hanoi Department of Tourism is keen to press forward with developing a variety of tourism products, such as heritage tourism, eco-tourism, agricultural tourism, health care tourism, and tourism based arounds sporting and cultural events as the COVID-19 epidemic has been brought under control nationwide.

Moreover, Hanoi will continue striving to build a safe, friendly, and civilised tourism environment for guests to enjoy, whilst making efforts to improve the quality of human resources, apart from strengthening the dissemination of information and co-operation to increase the number of domestic tourists.

According to both international and Vietnamese tourism experts, it will take a significant amount of time for the tourism industry to fully recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Experts estimate that it will take at least two months for the number of domestic tourists to rebound and at least six months for the figures of international visitors to begin to make a recovery.

Whilst the COVID-19 pandemic remains complicated in Europe, America, and other markets regionally, the disease has been successfully brought under control in Vietnam, facilitating a faster recovery for the domestic tourism market.
