Many travel companies in HCMC yesterday announced short day tours for coming Hung Kings Anniversary as workers will have only one day off on Thursday (April 6) this year.

The Hung Kings Anniversary takes place on the tenth day of the third lunar month every year.

The price of tours from HCMC to Tien Giang, Can Tho and other provinces in the Mekong Delta swings from VND300,000-400,000 a person. Holidaymakers will enjoy a discount of 5 percent if having five people and more including children.

Attending these tours, holidaymakers will travel along the Tien river to see Rach Mieu bridge; visit Long, Lan, Quy, Phung islets and fruit orchards; enjoy don ca tai tu (southern folk music), honey tea and visit trade villages making coconut products.

According to Sai Gon Giai Phong reporter’s record, pleasure automobile rent will not increase or slightly move up by 5 percent instead of 30-35 percent as in previous years.

Leaders of Mien Dong and Mien Tay (Eastern and Western) coach stations forecast that visitors will not increase significantly in the holiday and concentrate on short distance routes from HCMC to Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Ninh Thuan and some Mekong Delta provinces.

Most airlines including Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific and VietJet have raised ticket fares.

Vietnam Airlines has pushed up the fare by VND100,000-500,000 for business class and VND40,000-300,000 for economy class from April 1.

Since mid March, Jetstar Pacific and VietJet has raised service fees by VND100,000-160,000 a passenger in domestic and international flights.
