Nearly all accommodation at a resort village in Chiang Khan had been booked due to high demand, with some visitors setting up tents in front of Chiang Khan police station, not far from Mekong River, where facilities are available.
The local police provided safety measures for the villagers and others at popular tourist attractions during current winter season.
