A “Kagami Biraki” traditional Japanese ritual at Kansai Airport took place to mark the opening ceremony. Passengers on a flight from Osaka to Hanoi enjoyed a special Vietnamese traditional dance and received many interesting gifts such as Vietnamese brocade wallets and Vietjet Air hats.Jeremy Goldstrich, Corporate Executive Vice President of Kansai Airport, said it is a great honour for the airport to be named as Vietjet Air’s first destination in Japan. He welcomed the link with Hanoi and is eagerly anticipating future links with Ho Chi Minh City.
Hanoi alone is an interesting destination, but can also be used as a gateway for tourists to come and visit other famous places such as Ha Long, Ninh Binh and Sapa, said Mr Goldstrich. He added that in the future citizens and tourists from the two countries will have more opportunities to travel and do business together.
Hanoi-Osaka flights will use the A321 aircraft and will depart from Hanoi at 1.40AM and arrive in Osaka at 7.50AM (local time). Meanwhile flights from Osaka will take off at 9.20AM and land on in Hanoi at 1.05pm.
The air route brings the total number of international flights that Vietjet Air operates up to 64 in 11 countries and territories around the world. The airline will open two more new air routes to Japan, including HCM City to Osaka from December 14, 2018 and Hanoi to Tokyo from January 11, 2019.
To mark the launch of the Hanoi-Osaka route, Vietjet Air is giving away 10,000 promotional tickets with a starting price of VND0 on flights to Japan from November 7-9.
