The Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) 2017 will take place from April 6-9 at the International Exhibition Center in Hanoi.
Themed “Hanoi – Destination of Vietnam”, the VITM 2017 is expected to feature 600 enterprises and tourism management and promotion agencies from 43 of Vietnam’s cities and provinces and 25 countries and territories. The fair hopes to attract some 60,000 visitors. In addition to activities aiming to promote destination presentation and tourism stimulation from local exhibitors, the VITM also offers contests, traditional arts performances, conferences and workshops. Organized the first time in 2013, this year’s event is the fifth edition and considered Vietnam’s premier tourism event and one of the largest travel shows in the region. Last year, the country welcomed more than 10 million international arrivals, up 26 per cent year-on-year, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT). With a population of 92 million and rapid expansion in the number of middle class families, the demand for outbound travel has increased dramatically. In 2016, there were more than 6.5 million Vietnamese people travelling overseas, an increase of 15 per cent year-on-year. Not only will the VITM 2017 provide thousands of promotional tour packages and low-cost air tickets, it will also bring the best opportunities to foreign tour operators and providers to promote destinations and seek new business deals. |
