On the morning of September 24th, the Organizing Board of Dak Lak Startup Contest (Contest) in 2018 organized the qualifying round before the preliminary round to exclude profiles which fail to meet the requirements of the Contest.
Overview of the profile qualifying round
As of September 20th, the Organizing Board has received 125 applications, including 64 applications of the provincial Communist Youth Union; 04 applications of the Provincial Farmers’ Association; 13 applications of the provincial Women’s Union; 08 applications of Tay Nguyen University; and 13 applications from free applicants. Those applications are mostly in basic fields of agriculture (69 applications); trade services (23 applications); production and business (27 applications) and information technology (6 applications).
After the qualifying round, the Organizing Board has selected 110 applications for the preliminary round on September 28th – 29th, 2018. In the preliminary round, applicants will present their startup business ideas, as well as exhibit products, models directly at Dak Lak’s co-working space.
The Organizing Board evaluates applications
Mr. Pham Trong Phat, Vice President of the provincial Vietnamese Youth Union, member of the Organizing Board, said: “Through the qualifying round, applications are basically guaranteed according to the regulations of the Contest, many of them are highly applicability. Especially, over 50% of the application dossiers and proposals have specific products or models that can be applied in practice right if possessing full of the conditions about investment capital as well as consultancy and orientation on the production, business efficiency”.
The Dak Lak Start-up Contest 2018 is organized to promote entrepreneurial spirit, develop a start-up ecosystem, especially start-up creativity, start up business; raise awareness of the importance of start-up in socio-economic development of the province; make specific support policies to increase the viability of startup and startup businesses. The final round of the Contest will be held on October 12th, 2018 at the Provincial Cultural Center.
