The 7th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2019 was officially closed after eight days of excitement. Besides honoring coffee trees -The Quintessence of Jungle, the Festival is an opportunity for Dak Lak to build up good relationships with investors. Many leaders and experts have offered suggestions for a better development of specialty coffee and policies to help Dak Lak become “The destination of world coffee”. Attending the festival, visitors have immersed themselves in the historical days of March, in activities to experience the cultural space of the Central Highlands.
1. Specialty coffee – Many solutions proposed to improve Vietnamese coffee
Vietnamese specialty coffee competition 2019 consists of 31 units with 42 coffee samples produced in coffee growing regions nationwide. At the final round, there were 25 specialty coffee samples satisfying standards. The Vietnam Specialty Coffee Competition 2019 was organized according to the model of specialty coffee competitions in South America and Africa. The evaluation of coffee quality follows the procedures issued by the international specialty coffee organization and applied by the world specialty coffee community.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Quoc Doanh, Chairman of Vietnam Coffee Association Luong Van Tu and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Y Giang Gry Nie Knong co-chaired the workshop.
Workshop on specialty coffee, leaders of the Ministries and sectors agreed that it is necessary to have appropriate points of view and policies to encourage coffee producers, processors, roasters and distributors adapting and responding to the specialty coffee development for macroscopic aspect; to set out criteria and standards of quality assessment and build up specialty coffee brand. The specialty coffee development is considered a right direction that countries in the world including Vietnam have been implementing. It not only brings economic benefits to their producers, processors and consumers, but also is a justified requirement made by domestic and international consumption market as well as consumers.
Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh emphasized that coffee growing provinces should change methods of production with a focus on deep processing and strengthening product promotion aiming to raise the level of Vietnamese coffee in the national market. sacrifice. 2. Conference on Dak Lak Investment Promotion 2019 – 38 projects granted investment policy decisions, MoU with a total amount of about VND 72 trillion.
At Conference on Dak Lak investment promotion conference 2019, in the witness of Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Dak Lak presented the investment decisions and memorandum of understanding to 38 projects with a total amount of about VND 72 trillion.
In particular, projects on renewable energy, agriculture, education and health account for a large proportion. On this occasion, TNG Holdings Vietnam Investment Joint Stock Company signed a cooperation agreement on tourism development with Dak Lak worth more than VND 1.7 trillion.

Permanent Deputy Prime Minister has advised Dak Lak province to map out a master plan with long-term vision regarding the areas of socio-economic development, space, infrastructure construction and land, among others, in association with regional planning and national product planning.

The Government will focus on directing Ministries to complete laws and administrative procedures, improving the business climate, creating favorable conditions for businesses and people to develop production and business activities. 3. Coffee Specialized Exhibition – Attracting large number of people and tourists, “launching” many new products.
Coffee Specialized Exhibition was opened to welcome visitors from March 9th, with a scale of 800 booths including the participation of 14 sponsors, 230 domestic and foreign enterprises. Particularly, the expo had 18 foreign enterprises with 65 stalls of leading coffee import and export enterprises in the world. In the framework of the Fair – Exhibition also includes activities such as: agricultural knowledge consultancy, free product trial, lucky draw and art performance which attracted a large number of people and visitors.

Dak Lak also organized a common stall to display, introduce and promote the economic, trading, tourism and investment potentials with the participation of many traditional brands. In the beginning days, the Fair – Exhibition attracted over 50,000 visitors every day.
5. Tourism attracts more than 50,000 visitors including 6,000 international visitors – immersed in many festival’s activities.
Street Festival is one of the activities which is expected by local people and visitors at the 7th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2019. The street festival arouses emotions and connects visitors with love, the pride of the unique cultural values of the legendary Central Highlands.

Moreover, Dak Lak organized 22 traditional ceremonies and festivals to serve local people and visitors. Many gong performances were performed at the Provincial Cultural Center every evening bringing many interesting experiences to visitors.
Buon Don Elephant Festival 2019
At Dak Lak’s localities, visitors still felt excited about the Buon Don Elephant Racing Festival 2019, the dug-out canoe racing festival in Lak district to see the elephants eating buffet, participating in sport competitions; the competition of 19 boat teams from communes and towns of Lak district.
6. Discover the culture of many special destinations
At the World Coffee Museum, the World Coffee History Exhibition has introduced more than 10,000 artifacts from coffee materials to coffee production machines from rudimentary to modern. Thereby, it restored the coffee history in the development process of the world.
Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Book Street started in December 2016, completed and put into operation from March 2016, with a modern and impressive design with the cultural characteristics of the Central Highlands ethnic groups.

After the opening day, Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Book Street continues to be maintained as an attractive destination to attract domestic and foreign tourists, thereby contributing to the promotion of reading culture, coffee culture and traditional culture of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands, thereby raising pride and love for the homeland and country. In the framework of the 7th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2019, enjoying free coffee (from March 9th to March 16th at 38 coffee shops in Buon Ma Thuot City) left a good impression on visitors and friends when coming to the coffee capital of Vietnam.
