On February 26th, Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) held a meeting under the chair of Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the PPC to review the preparations for the Conference on Dak Lak Investment Promotion 2019. Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Deputy Chairman of the PPC and leaders of relevant departments and agencies.

Overview of the meeting

The Conference on Dak Lak Investment Promotion 2019 is one of the main activities of the 7th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, held on the morning of March 10th, 2019 in Buon Ma Thuot City. It is expected the Prime Minister, leaders of some ministries and Dak Lak province co-chaired the conference. The expected program consists of speeches made by experts on assessing Dak Lak’s potential, strengths and forecasting the development; bilateral meetings between the provincial leaders and investors and the statement of the Prime Minister. At the same time, Dak Lak PPC is planning to grant 28 investment policy decisions, investment registration certificates and investment memorandums to enterprises with a total registered investment capital of VND 65,647 billion.

The preparation for the Conference on Dak Lak Investment Promotion is being actively implemented by Dak Lak PPC and other departments. The Department of Planning and Investment has made an invitation list, worked with investors to agree on the content of the investment memorandum; selected field survey locations in Phu Xuan Industrial Zone to introduce potential investment in Dak Lak. The communication work of conference was promoted in the media. The Planning and Investment Department linked to websites of the Planning and Investment Ministry, Foreign Investment Agency and the provinces’ investment promotion centers.

Department of Industry and Trade reports the working progress

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Dak Lak PPC emphasized that the Conference on Dak Lak Investment Promotion 2019 is an important event. Therefore, the relevant departments and sectors should take the initiative and well perform their assigned tasks so that the conference would be successful. In particular, it is necessary to complete the contents and script of the conference; to advise the PPC to decide investment policies on projects which are making procedures; to work with businesses to agree on the content of the investment memorandum and have appraisal comments on the projects to summarize and report to the PPC before issuing the Investment Policy Decision. At the same time, there are plans to ensure security and order at the conference and review and finalize the guest list to build a plan to welcome delegates thoughtfully.
