On the morning of February 12, in Hanoi, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee for the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2025 – Nguyen Tuan Ha chaired a press conference to introduce the upcoming festival.

Attending the press conference were representatives from the Vietnam Coffee – Cacao Association, leaders from relevant departments and local authorities of Dak Lak Province and Hanoi City, the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association, sponsors, festival ambassadors, as well as a large number of reporters from both central and local press agencies..
The 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, themed “Buon Ma Thuot – The Destination of World Coffee,” is set to take place from March 9 to March 13, 2025, in Buon Ma Thuot City and several localities in Dak Lak Province. This event serves as a meaningful activity to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Buon Ma Thuot Victory and the liberation of Dak Lak Province (March 10, 1975 – March 10, 2025); it is also an opportunity to honor coffee culture, coffee growers, and the coffee industry; promote the brand of Buon Ma Thuot Coffee, and establish the image of Buon Ma Thuot City as the “City of World Coffee.” The festival will also serve as a platform for Dak Lak Province to showcase its image, potential, and tourism strengths, promote investment in coffee production and processing, as well as other agricultural products in the province; and to introduce and promote the unique traditional culture of ethnic minorities, especially the Gong Culture Space of the Central Highlands – an intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO.

The festival will feature 15 official activities. The Opening Ceremony will take place at 8:00 PM on March 10, 2025, and the Closing Ceremony at 8:00 PM on March 13, 2025, at the 10/3 Square in Buon Ma Thuot City. This year’s festival will embody an international integration approach with a modern style that highlights the theme “Buon Ma Thuot – The Destination of World Coffee.”
Compared to the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival held in 2023, the 9th edition in 2025 will introduce new highlights, including a digital content creation competition to promote the festival on online platforms; the groundbreaking ceremony for the Trung Nguyen Legend Energy Coffee Factory; and the coffee camp “Companionship and Sharing” at the historical and cultural site of CADA Plantation in Krong Pak District.

Speaking at the press conference, Permanent Vice Chairman Nguyen Tuan Ha emphasized that coffee is an agricultural product that plays a significant role in the socio-economic life, providing livelihoods for the local population, particularly for people in the Central Highlands region in general and Dak Lak Province in particular.
Buon Ma Thuot has been dubbed the “Coffee Capital of Vietnam,” with the largest area and production of coffee in the country, covering approximately 210,000 hectares and an annual harvest of over 520,000 tons, accounting for more than 30% of the national output. Coffee from Dak Lak Province has been exported to hundreds of countries and territories worldwide and continues to be vital in the socio-economic development of the province.
Miss Universe Vietnam 2017, Top 5 Miss Universe 2018 H’Hen Nie – Media Ambassador for the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 shared her insights on communication activities for the festival.
The Coffee Festival is held biennially to honor coffee growers, processors, and traders, as well as to showcase the tourism potential and advantages of Dak Lak province. The festival aims to promote investment in coffee processing and agricultural products, attract domestic and international tourists to Dak Lak, and enhance the Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand, solidifying Vietnam’s coffee prominence in the global market and positioning Buon Ma Thuot as a premier coffee destination.
Nguyen Tuan Ha, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee, emphasized the crucial role of communication in promoting the festival. This year, the festival’s organizing committee has invited Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 H’Hen Nie and Miss Tourism Vietnam 2024 Dinh Thi Hoa as media ambassadors. Additionally, they have extended invitations to content creators and media professionals on social media platforms to participate in promoting the festival online, thereby helping to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Central Highlands in Dak Lak, known as the “Coffee Capital” of Vietnam to both domestic and international visitors.

Comrade Nguyen Tuan Ha expressed his hope that media agencies would pay attention to the communication efforts surrounding the festival to support Đak Lak province, as well as to promote and introduce more widely the province of Đak Lak in general and the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in particular, to both domestic and international audiences.
At the press conference, the Organizing Committee for the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 officially announced and introduced the Communication Ambassadors for this year’s festival: Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 and Top 5 Miss Universe 2018 H’Hen Nie, along with Miss Tourism Ambassador Vietnam 2024 Dinh Thi Hoa.
The Organizing Committee also addressed journalists’ inquiries regarding the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025. The Committee is set to hold press conferences about the festival in Ho Chi Minh City on February 21, 2025, and in Buon Ma Thuot on February 26, 2025.
