National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines is set to welcome the return to operation of international air routes which connect both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Australia between April 1 and June 30 following a brief hiatus caused by the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

According to the schedule, there will be no more than two flights per week to each destination.

In line with the entry regulations of other places, flights departing from the nation to foreign countries will only serve the needs of Vietnamese people who are going abroad to study, work, and visit relatives, along with foreign nationals based in Vietnam who are returning home in accordance with the regulations of each respective country.

Vietnam Airlines has suggested that passengers should be active in referring to the various entry regulations put out by the various embassies of foreign countries in Vietnam as they prepare all necessary documents and procedures ahead of departure.

In addition, airlines won’t be held responsible in the event that passengers are refused entry.

In terms of bringing passengers into the country from abroad, Vietnam Airlines will continue to follow the immigration regulations set out by the Vietnamese Government and will put on transportation in the form of repatriation flights and flights for foreign experts when granted permission by competent agencies.

Furthermore, the national flag carrier is poised to operate flights from Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Taiwan (China) based on permission given by relevant agencies.

Earlier local budget airline Bamboo Airways was ranted takeoff and landing slots to operate a total of six flights per week to Heathrow Airport in the UK as of May in order to better keep up with the travel needs of international passengers.

The airline will operate a total of six flights per week, including three flights from Heathrow Airport to Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, along with three flights from Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport to Heathrow Airport.
